Publications

Last year I went on a surf trip to Scotland. At the time I was recovering from a medical procedure and a loss. Throughout my life, I have written poems at poignant moments such as when our pets passed away, moved house e.t.c . This particular one I wrote whilst on the trip, it helped me recover and celebrates the beauty of the landscape and how the ocean helped heal me. Thanks so much to my family and partner for encouraging me to send it to submit it to magazines and a huge thanks to White Horses Magazine for publishing it as a double page spread alongside a photo I took of the trip, in their most recent issue.

TALES FROM THE ROAD

“Three sleepy girls, three boards, two naughty dogs, bucket-loads of soggy wetsuits, a flask of tea and a packet of Ginger Nuts; the essentials for a Cornish winter road trip down west. Together we set off in search of shelter from the 20 second period and 16ft swell, turning the radio up every time a Christmas song came on”

Morning Rituals

“A quick check of the forecast and it is as we hoped; light offshore winds with a 4ft 11sec swell. Peering out the window into the back garden I see my towel draped over the washing line stiff with frost. I go grab another from the cupboard”

- Emma Fraser Bell,

Was a pleasure to be asked to take a few shots to illustrate this article written by Emma Fraser Bell for Finisterre. Capturing the cold reality of winter dawns.

Grounding: Walking the Path

‘So much in our lives is fast-paced. Walking is a slow undertaking. It is among the most radical things you can do.’

- Erling Kagge, Walking.

Myself and writer friend Emma Fraser Bell were commissioned by Finisterre to put to test their new hiking boots in collaboration with Palladium it was a fun and challenging walk read the full article below

Drift cornwall

My photographs are used in this beautiful magazine in order to illustrate an article on the valuable work Rob is doing. The article Turning The Tide is about how by recovering nets and providing a net collection service from harbours is creating a circular economy these nets and other marine plastic are then shredded and the material is used to create kayaks, which are then used in order to collect more marine litter from inaccessible coves.

Surfgirl

A client of mine Courtney Shore runs amazing plastic free workshops which I had the pleasure of photographing. Following the workshop a few of her recipes were published in Surfgirl mag, a few of my photos alongside.

Wild Cornwall calender

My image of a Beaver Pup has been used to illustrate the month of July in the 2020 Cornwall Wildlife Trust Calendar. Patience is a virtue, I sat by a lake, in the rain for 4 hours waiting for this little guy to appear. Just as the light was fading he eventually popped out to say hello.
